Sensys Networks Wins 2008 Best New Innovative Product
BERKELEY, CA—November 18, 2008

Sensys Networks, Inc., the leader in wireless vehicle detection systems for the transportation industry, was named a Best New Innovative Product by the Intelligent Transportation Society of America (ITSA) as part of their annual Best of ITS Awards. Sensys Networks received the award for a project with California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) as part of their Corridor Mobility Improvement Account (CMIA), which funded the installation of over 800 Sensys Wireless Vehicle Detection count stations in three Caltrans districts for performance improvements on the state highway system.

The Sensys Wireless Vehicle Detection System can collect all required vehicle detection data, including vehicle volume, occupancy, speed, presence, length classification, headway, gap, direction of travel, and queue length, with exceptional accuracy and reliability. Since it requires no calibration or routine maintenance, the system provides a cost-effective solution for permanent count stations on freeways and system counts on arterials.

Presented by ITS America, the Best of ITS Awards is the only program in the world that honors the most innovative, effective, and influential achievements in the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) industry. This highly competitive program recognizes the organizations whose projects have demonstrated specific and measurable outcomes and exemplified innovation by establishing a “new dimension” of performance.
